Riding

I've been on and off motorcycles since I was about 8 years old, starting on a Suzuki RM80 that was way too big for me. My dad used to hold me up so I could ride off, then catch me when I was done.

I've commuted for years on two wheels, an SV650, a GSXR750, a Harley Street 750 and a Triumph Daytona 675. I've spent a lot of time at the racetrack with the Daytona, did an 8-hour relay endurance race, helped instruct new riders, and got my knee down at my first track day, just two weeks after getting the bike.

Off the track, I've been part of motorcycle safety campaigns (Think Bike) and marshalled for bicycle events and a large Toy Run. Riding is equal parts freedom, focus and respect for the machine, a lot like shipping software, honestly.
