Privacy
This is a personal website. I keep things simple and respectful of your data.
What I collect
If you use the contact form or subscribe to the newsletter, I store the details you give me (your name and email, and any message) so I can reply or send you new posts. That's it.
What I don't do
- I don't sell or share your information.
- I don't run invasive third-party ad trackers.
- You can ask me to delete your details at any time.
Analytics & cookies
I run a small, first-party measurement tool so I can see which posts are read and which ones lead to conversations, and write more of what's useful. There are two layers, and only the second one involves any cookie or consent:
- Anonymous totals (no cookie, no consent). For each post I keep simple running tallies, how many times it was viewed, how many readers reached the end, and how many clicked a link in it. These are just numbers going up. They're not tied to you, there's no cookie, no IP address, and nothing that could identify you or any individual visitor.
-
Journey tracking (opt-in). On your first visit you'll see a banner. Only
if you choose Accept do I set a single first-party cookie (
oc_vid) that lets me connect a post to a later conversation. Decline and this layer simply doesn't run. Either way there are no third-party trackers, no ad pixels, and no raw IP addresses stored, and I purge these raw event logs after about six months.
The contact form works the same whether you accept or decline.
Fonts & embeds
The site loads web fonts from Google Fonts, and some pages embed YouTube, Twitch or TikTok players, those providers may set their own cookies when you interact with them.
